May be this is a good idea to for the baking, gingerbread cookies.
The only problem is, the dough has to stay rest for a night. At the same time, it is weekend and I can travel to my parents house without any problems.
On top of that, homemade gingerbread cookies are so much better than the cookies from the stores. Also, the sense of gingerbread cookies are one of the best during the whole christmas.
A good tip for snacks for a christmas party is to have gingerbread cookies with blue cheese. So good.
Next week is first of December which means Christmas is around the courner.
While my family is out of town, my plan is to stay in Stockholm and work but also to study. That means I am going to celebrate without my family! I have celebrated christmas without my family before, but than I have been abroad. Somehow this feels wired, we will be in same country but not together.
Some years ago our gingerbread house was full decorated with sweets. I must say, the house look okay. To decorate the house is the so much of fun!
Anyways, I have the major craving for baking. I have been thinking about what should I bake, the only thing I have manage to figure out is it has to be something with Christmas. What I am going to bake is something I have no idea. Has anyone good ideas or tips for Christmas baking?
I want to get this Christmas feeling and listing to Carlos while baking. Time to get Christmas mood on!
Princes cakes are really good and can look high class, in my opinion. The cake can be perfect to a birthday part, or with a cup of coffe but also for a wedding reception.
However, being one of the pople preparing 15 cakes for a wedding is a challange. All cakes have to look the same, one cake can not have more cream than the other. Every cake has to look the same. During the cake making process, we were 4 people and still the baking time took a long time. In the end we were tired and irritated on each other, but we managed to creat 15 cakes for one wedding. If I get the oppertunity to do it again, I would not miss it. Think like this, be able to help someone for the big day is something special.
At the wedding reception, the cake looked amazing and also tasted really good! I thought I was not going to eat the cake due to baking prcoess. But I did!
This is the result from our baking, sure the cake was not standing up, but it is impossible to see this cake was homemade. The decoration was perfect to the cake.
Sunday at my parents house has started kind of good. First with some studies (so boring). While studying I started to feel cold and what is the best way to get warm? To bake and use the oven. So, the only option was to start baking muffins.
– 100 g butter, – 1,5 dl sugar
– 1 teaspoon of baking powder
– 3 tabelspoon of cacao powder
– 80 g chocolate
– 2 eggs
– 2,5 DL wheatflour
– 1 DL milk
mix butter, sugar till it become fluffy. Add baking powder, cacao powder and one egg after each other and mix more. Add all the rest of the ingredients. The oven temprature should be 175 degrees and the muffins have to be in the oven for 30 min at least.
Simple and tasty. While baking I started to listen to the Arabic songs I have been dancing to. I do not know why, but while mixing the ingredients my hips started to move to the music. It is impossible to not to dance to this songs. The songs are really good and for sure, gives me a big smile on my lips.
While we were in the south of Sweden we made it to a summer party. At the party, we got so much of sweet bakeries, and coffee. During the day, we plaied games women vs. men. Also, the games, we plaied all the basic classic games such as, run with potatoes on the spoons, jump in bags and move water. The whole part wazs a day long and also, very nice.
How lovel is not the cake? Well, in my oppinion the cake was perfect.
For the first time I had Taiwanese sweet. I would explain the sweet with fatty, sweet and really tasty. If I understood it right, the sweet is made with pineapple, but the sad part is I don’t know the name of the sweet. However, the sweet is home made by the aunt in the family. Also, the aunt is making them and selling this sweets here in Sweden!
May be I should try to find where I can buy the sweets.
Yesterday, My mom and I visted ikea, mio and many other stores to buy storages for me. We found two things, one for the hall and the other one for the main room.
Well, during the week we are going to build the shelf for the main room.
One of the best things which I know, beside gymming is bakinging. So, after a very long day in different stores. I got the time to bake muffins! The muffins are in different sizes, from American forms to small Christmas sweets forms.
What is needed to make the muffins
- 1 – 1,5 dl of sugger
- 100 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 2,5 dl of floor
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
First of all add the sugger and the butter in a bowl. Mix the sugger and butter well. Then add one egg at the time and mix beween the eggs. After the eggs, the berries or chocoalte (any flocur adding items have to be added. Also, add the floor, baking soda and mix everything with a spoon.
Use to spoons to but the dough in to the forms. The tempratur in the oven has to be 225 degrees and the time depends on how big the forms are. The medium size forms have to be in the oven for around 15 minutes. While the American muffins forms have to be in the oven for 20-30 minutes. Just in case, check the muffins.
The new homework is to take 3-5 photos and present “my Stockholm”, but what is my Stockholm. I do not know, yet. Also, I can not say I want to go out to take photos due to the weather.

We are not allowed to take photos on the city hall, because we have seen photos on the City hall too many times.
Yesterday, I met up a friend and we took a walk to Slussen and then headed home to cook and bake.
For dinner we made dumplings (yea, I am very weak for dumplings) then we made rhubarb pie. The rhubarbs for this year are incredible.
I know, the color is not right on the photo, but I can not really change.. But the dough is easy to make.
- 2 dl floor
- 100 g of butter
- 1 tablespoon of suggar
Mix everything with your fingers and then spread the dough over the rhubarbs, appels or anything form of fruits. The oven tempratur is 225 degreese and let the pie be in the oven for 30 mintues.
A café in Sweden has to have chocolate balls to be able to call them a café. At least, that is what I think. Therefore, at the café I am working at, whenever we get time and has the ingrediance we bake. We bake, chocolate balls, muffins, small cookies and much more. Anything which works well with a cup of coffee. Chocolate balls are so easy to make and take no time. Also, everyone knows how chocolate balls taste like therefore they are safe card.
Therefore, when we bake chocolate balls, we use a whole packaged of oat (1,5 kg) and may be 20 balls…. As you can hear, our chocolate balls are huge.
So my friend to with her a dessert which she made at home. We do not really know where it is from, but who cares when the dessert taste amazing.
I asked what she had added in the class, it was with whip cream, Turkish yogurt, berries (strawberries), mango and on top small chocolate chips. Then it was on layers, one layer with something white and then colorful and then white and so on.
When I saw the glass first I thought I can not finish the whole glass, but I did. The reason was very simple, it was amazing. But what is the name on the dessert? I do not know.
With the dessert we drank coffee from South America and talked a lot, I mean a lot. She is such a sweetheart and I am going to miss her too. Why is everyone leaving Sweden? I do not like it at all….
