It is now or never

All the other Harry potter books have been read many times before, but never the final book. But, now it is the time to read the final book.

So many have read all the books and loved them. Myself is one of them who love Harry Potter books to read about about a fantasy world. Somehow I ahve never manage to read the last book, even though the book has been with me for years. Also, to be one of the people to say I like the Harry Potter books but never opened the last book, the reactions are: HOW CAN YOU?! THE LAST BOOK IS THE BEST ONE.

Well, the last book might be the best one, earlier I did not feel to read the book due to all the pages and the less common words. But, now, now is the time for me to read this book and hopefully finish it too! If, I do not find any better book to read….

Pure and Simple, is what I like

I am this big sucker for cooking books. My bookshelf contain most of textbooks from 3 years of business studies and than with all the cooking and baking books.

_MG_9448

The bookshelf has too many books, but I love them all. Some of my cooking books are from Sweden other are from India and Canada, also Germany. The biggest must for my cooking books are they have to have photos on almost all the reciepes. So, there are photos to compare the dish from the book with my dish. Major reason is to get inspiration from the book and to get the feeling I want to try to do this dish. However, normally I do not have all the ingredients so it always ends up with I skip this ingredient and use this one instead. Most of the time the dish turn out good.

What I have faced with Indian cooking books, they requring a lot of ingredients and not in big quantityeither, all the spices for ecample, 1/2 teaspoon, or 1 teaspoon of this and that. So when I got this book Pure and simple, my joy was was extrem. The recipes are simple, does not ask for 10-15 different ingredients and in the back of the book shows step by step how to make Paneer, gravy and much more. A very good book for a pure beginner. The only thing I have to comment is the book has only veg recipes, if it good or bad. I do not know, but most of the dishes are veg.

Money making and upcoming collapse

During the last days I have been reading this book about bond market. May be the topic does not intreset so many, but, it is an important topic and many people have an opinion about government and the reserv bank rolls are. This books has a negative and ironic tune to anything about controlling the market. Also, in my opinion the market shoud not be controll by politics and reserv bank, ie riksbanken in Sweden. Becasue the market has to clean up non-profit companies, recover from good years and for god sake governments have to understand keyne theory has hugh problems. For example, how much money does the government need to put in to the market to create job? When shall the “project” stop? Just look on Japan and see how well the keynes´theory has helped them… More right, the programs have not helped them at all, and instead created bigger problems.
Well, this book is all about US and about the the upcoming problems with the nonstop money making programs and the major debt the government has. Becasue, at any point US has to face the debt and pay back to ie China and Japan.

The book is easy to read, with good examples so it is easier to everyone to understand the digging and filling programs are not working in the long run, because in the end that sort of programs do not increase the GDP. I would say, this is a book to read while having a break from the philosophers I am currently reading too.

From Etienne de La Boétie to Robert Nozick

Books about India is currently on the shelfs and instead the time is all about liberty and classical philosophes and texts. Some texts are well known from well know thinkers or fighters for the freedom of speech, property equal rights and so on. While some other text are written by famous people but the texts are less known.
So the books contain over 20 writers from 1500 to the end of 1900m there are a mixture of John Locke, David Hume, Ayn Rand and John Stuart Mill, Frierdrich Hayek and many, many more. The texts are about freedom but with a big mixture of the topics and the texts are from two pages and up 10-15 pages.
May be the best part is, the book is in Swedish especially with a topic of freedom, the book has to be in Swedish if I should understand better. Therefore, the time to read the book is limited because the surrounding area has to be with less noise. So, most likely this book has the time to finish, but so worth it.

The white tigher

Sometimes a reader need an easy going book. A book which make the reader laugh and not to worry about misunderstand the book. More or less, a book which is possible to read at the metro or before falling asleep. Therefore, after weeks with heavier books I am glad my chose to read the white tiger instead of novels about liberty in Swedish.

“White tiger a novel” is easy written about India´s big problems such as corruptions, populations and much more. But, instead of mention the problems with only of darkness the author has corporate India’s challenges with humor. The reader read a person’s letters to Chinas prime ministers and about the writer´s life and his experiences. From the writer´s childhood how he needed to stop going to school and instead start working. How he manage to become a driver while his surname indicate he belongs to sweet maker caste, or how he needed to take the blame for killing a homeless person while it was the ma’am who killed the child. While the reader read about the problems every now and then a laugh is slipped out.
In my case, I really like this book, because this is my second time I am reading the book. But, the first time was in high school so maybe it does not count…

Preparing for three days out

Okay, today is Monday I am having my first shift at the café. I have been working there for two years, so I know the environment. However, due to the distance from Stockholm it is much more convene to spend the two nights at the café then travel front and back. On the other side, there is nothing to do after a shift and a bit scary too, because it is a bit lonely. In my case, I have decided to carry with me some books (yes, more then one book). The reason is simple my fashion brands book is soon over, I have only 50 pages more to read. So, my only option is to carry more books with me, also, I do not want to face that the only book I have with me is a boring or bad book. Therefore I bring 2 books with me, in different topics.
First book is about India history and culture. The second book is about liberty and publicly all the famous thinkers/authors shorter texts about what is liberty.

Also, I can not update anything from the place.

From religions to brands

Now, I have been reading a lot of Islam and also somewhat about Hinduism. My mind need to take a step back from all the religious text and ready about something totally opposite of religious and god/gods and become more present. Therefore the latest book is “Fashion brands”. The book is about what is fashion, how do the brands make us ready to buy new clothes for every seasons. I have just started to read the book and about the histrocial chapter how fashion and brands are created. Even if my interests are limited to follow the latest fashion and trends, but on the other side, I am one of the crowd who like to have brands on my bags, tops and much more. But, how come?

“I have two jackets with me, one from Zara and one from Martin Margiela. The Margiela jacket was probably five times the price of the Zara one – but I don’t mind, because I like what Margiela stands for”. This is taken from the book and a fashion journalist has said that. Well, I would say, the journalist is right, we like to wear brands because of the image, stands for and how we feel while wearing the garment. But, how have the brands mange to create this attractiveness, image? Hopefully the book will be able to give some sort of answer on my question.

(I know the book should never lay like this and the cover/back get damage)

“On day, Beene asked the young Albert what he thought of a particular dress. “It’s very commercial,” Elbaz opined. Beene took him gently aside and said “Alber, you must never say a dress Is commercial. you must say it is desirable””. Well, How good is this not? This is from the introduction, and somehow provide even stronger evidence about my earlier opinion about the fashion industry is a crazy game.

In the end, I am looking forward to keep on reading this book, finally. I bought this book last year, but have not open the book till now. However, finally the first 15 pages are done and soon more!
