When ever I get the time and energy to travel to my parents house, I do that. So, today I am here at my parents house and studying.
I do not know when they ae coming home or if I ahve to cook the dinner. One of the reason I am here is because I do not want to cook one more meal or at least one more meal for only me. Anyone who is living alone, knows the feeling of: Oh no, dinner time again and I do not even feel for cooking proper meal for myself and eat alone… Sight…
Anyways, I have this luxury to drink coffee from South America which taste much much better than the coffee from Gevalia, Löfbergs Lila.
Anyways, my feet are feeling could, and the darkness have already arrived so that means, time to light some candls.
Voluspa makes the best candles with senses. Normal candles with some sense can smell good before they are lighted and without any sense. While, Voluspa candles create this strong sense and lasting for long time. On top of that, the candles are in cute metal boxes! 🙂
In earlier posts have been about my family in India and about my sisters wedding (which I can not attend due to fianl exams). But, she did send some photos from a ritual which they have before the offical preparations for the wedding could start.
My question is why this ritual what is the history behind it, what do they do during the ritual? The only thing I could figure out was the people at the ritual were women from the family. Also, everyone were really beautiful in the sarees. Still what do they do at the ritual? I do know and can even understand from the photos…
Does anyone know? I am so lost!
The brunch was at Villa källhagen, a walking distans from Östermalm near to many museums for a all ages. I had never been to Villa Källhagen before, but passed it many times while walking around Djurgården. Also, for them who does not want to take the car or walk, there are many busses passing by.
The brunch had perfect amount of food compare with Christams buffes which have way too many dishes. This brunch had cold dishes salmon, meat and salads. The salad with pumpkin tasted really great!
While the warm dishws looked really sad, I did not even try the dishes. The desserts were in limited amount, and I know my family loved 2 things from the desserts.
What I really liked was, due to the limited amount of food, there was no risk of over eating, which I normally facing with buffers with many different sort of food. This time, I ate enough and really loved the cold dishes. They had smoked shrimps!!
The pink sweet was a great hit at my table.
Last Christmas I had an amzing holiday with my friends and families in India. I ate waaay too much of street food such as Bhel and pani puri (I can not get enough of it). So, last evening with on of my families baba took to a streeet food restaurant. My sister and brother ate so many plates as we could and even more. We had a great time, and guess what baba found?
He found bhel package to carry the bhel home. So, he bought it and gifted the bhel to me.
I have had the bhel in the package for every since last christmas, but now the package is open. And even if the flavour is not the same as the bhel in Pune. But it is so good to have bhel again! I loved it and was very happy to eat bhel with a friend. Anyway, the thing is bhel taste the best in India, on the street and see bhai preparing the dish extramly fast. while waiting on the snacks you chat with friends, see the traffic passing by. While having it home the whole environment is missing…
I am really sorry for all the food updates today, but what to do….
My dear brother took me out for dinner at K25. We went to one of Stockholm best sushi places, and I can say the sushi tasted really good. The pices were fresh and the rice was not too sticky which sometime the rice can be. On top of the shushi pices were not too big either, there were no problem to eat one pice at a time.
The funniest part was that my brother told me about how to eat sushi. For example, the rice should not be in soya and instead the fish. Than my question is HOW?! I did not try to dip the fish, to dip the rice is so much easier.
The Sushi place is Hattori also located at Drottninggatan in Stockholm.
This photo is kind of old at least over 5 years old. However, it is not about the photo I am planing to write about. No, it is about the dress. The dress has been my grandmothers. My grandmother is much much shorter than me (I am 174 cm) and we used to have the same size on dresses. So, when my grandparents were shifting I got the big oppertunity to try my grandmothers old dresses. Some of the dresses were from the 50th and was fitting me too good (The dress in the photo is still fitting me and many other of her old dresses).
I can only say, I was lucky to have a grandmother who has saved the dresses.
The blue dress is from NK and I do not know how old the dress is but at least 30- 40 years old and look like new! So, for sure this dresses are vintage becasue all of them are brands and in good conditions too!
My friend come over to my parents house to have dinner. with us. Tortilla evening which mean I had too much. I am so weak for tortilla… I love, love to chose what I want in my bread. Also, it is so simple to make it, prepare veg and heat up the chicken pices.
After the dinner my friend and I went to the bar man in the moon. The place has a lot a lot of different sort of beer. Many different beers and all sort of prices from the week beer for 45 sek to 3000 sek.
