The evening with ICCS with a lot of people and preforamcnes.
So, when we arrived we got this great welcome with photograph, food and drinks.
After the welcome there was bit of waiting but we met some people I already knew. The food was not too bad and the preformacnes were aesome!
The groups needed to preform on a small stage but did a great work.
Overall, the Diwali fest was great. I loved it.
Today is the 21 of November and my friend but also parents are going to a Diwali function! Yes Diwali for second time this year. I am really excited because the dress I am going to wear is amazing!
In earlier posts have been about my family in India and about my sisters wedding (which I can not attend due to fianl exams). But, she did send some photos from a ritual which they have before the offical preparations for the wedding could start.
My question is why this ritual what is the history behind it, what do they do during the ritual? The only thing I could figure out was the people at the ritual were women from the family. Also, everyone were really beautiful in the sarees. Still what do they do at the ritual? I do know and can even understand from the photos…
Does anyone know? I am so lost!
The time for the dress to arrive has taking so long time. Hopefully the dress is worth the waiting. DHL had written the dress was going to arrive last Monday, but when the evening had pass there was no dress. Today DHL had removed the date of arriving. Thankfully I spoke with a lady at DHL and she told me the dress is arriving tomorrow! The first thing I will do is to try the dress, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the dress is fitting me. My dress is the right dress, longer than the original one. But I have great feeling that the right dress will be better than anything else!
If the dress is fitting me perfect I am going to wear it during the Diwali festival which Indian culture center arranging.
My friend asked me for some days ago if I wanted to attend an other Diwali function. This time the oginization behind the part is Indian culture center (ICCS). I must say I am really excited to go and enjoy an other party. The ticket is for 200 sek which is nothing and chief gust of the evening is mrs. Bose Harrison. ICCS is providing dinner and Bollywood music, I am so excited to go!
How to get the tickets is a good question. The best way is to mail Singhprima@live.se and ask if there is any tickets left. Also they have a facebook site and the name is Indians and Friends in Sweden, take a look!
The photo is from Facebook.
I have relized in the last month the weeding invitation has come after each other. What happen? Have we reach the age of getting married? May be the funniest part non of the weddings are in Sweden. For a year or so, I was happy to get a borthday invitation becasue many of my friends do not even celebrate the birthday and now I am reziving wedding invitation!
Anyway, the weedings are taking place in India of course, but one is Kuwait! Can you beleive it? Kuwait! It feels like it is once in life time also the girl who is getting married is a very good friend of mine. I should have a look on the tickets because how can I miss her wedding?
In the end, I am guessing from now the wedding invitations are something I have to get use to.
At the Diwali festival there was dance preforance by a really good dance group.
The best part is, my dad has become much better to take photos since he started to use my camera. Also on top of that, he got much better place me.
Anyway, the group is raelly good and dance different sort of dance preforamnces. Also, this group has preforamed at so many events and always do a great show.
What a day. It feels like the days with bad news does not end. Not only can not my friend and I manage a skype evening. But now I got to know, the dress won’t arrive till the Diwali festival. I had so much hope to get my dress on time. May be that is the thing, timings are not the strongest side for many people. Therefore I have to look on my old dresses what to wear and I am totally lost. One thing is for sure, I can not wear a black dress for Diwali. The festival for light!
Any way, this is a small issue.
In January the weekend before I am arriving in India my sister is getting married. The worst part is I can not attened the wedding due to final exams.
My sister had send me pictures on her sarees, she is going to wear 4 difference sarees all with yellow due to somesort of traditional reasons. I have so much to learn from Indian culutre.
However, the photos on her sarees are beautiful. Indians sarees are extremly beautiful and indian women are beautiful therefore everything becomes duble beautiful. I am so happy for her she is going to be the most beautiful bride ever!
Is it possible for me to get a saree like that? I am in love with this sarees it is soo soo beautiful the pink/red and gold!
My culture is so dull, white dress for marrage. Colors are so much more fun.
What do you prefere color or white?
The yearly Diwali festival last day for registration is on the 7th of October.
Mostly the fest is at a hotel in Stockholm, with live music, dance preforamnces, food and lottery with amazing things to win. THe festival has grown a lot and more and more people are attending to celebrate Diwali. I am really excited to attend the festival. Really, loving it.
I am hoping my dress will be done before the 24th but I am not sure. The dress is being made in India and than I have to get it here with UPS. The dress is made by my good friend who is a designer and a great one.
My dress is the right one, so amazing.
