Before I went to the gym I made my very first sweet potato soup. Before I started with the cooking, I did some research on recipes becasue I have never done sweet potato soup. However, in the end there was no recipe whcih I followed.
The base is with Indian spices such as tumeric powder, chilli, cumin and some more. I got this amazing taste from teh spices and something extra most likelt from the sweet potato. On top of that the soup had some food yogurt.
To get some extra food, chicken was fried while I heated the soup up. One thing fore sure, I would love to make sweet potato soup again.
I am so sorry for the bad picture, but it is not easy to be still with a lot of things going on in a super small kitchen.
My friend spoke about the spices and how the onions should look like and much more.
We made chicken and added some milk in the gravy to make the gravy less thin. However, the smell of the food was amazing. The taste was good too, better than many resturants!
Also, I made chapati 1 out of 3 was full with air, that is how chapati should be on the pan.
Yesterday was a long day with limited amount of sleep. We manage to arrange a comfortable evening at my parents house. The whole family was at home and made homemade pizza.
The pizza dough was already bought, so we skiped by making our own dough. But we did the topping is after our taste. The pizza had wildmeat on one side with mozzarella, tomatoes and on the other side clams, mushrooms and mozzarella. THe waiting time was only 15 munites and the pizza was flooded with water from the mozzarella and the tomatoes. However, the pizza turn out amazing!
The pizza was so good!
Today I tried green lentils instead of oranges. The green does not get destroyed that easily.
This patch turn out tasty after adding chili flakes.
The green lentils cooked with ginger, cummin seeds, tumeric powder also some cloves and tomatoes. Also, some water.
When ever the heat is missing the flakes is the best solution to get some heat. I am really pleased.
For some days ago a friend and I went to a Indian store near to Drottninggatan to buy things for our indian cooking. I bought a lot all of things beside one spice which I have almost nothing left. One of the major reasons why I went to the store to buy that spice and I totaly forgot it.
Anyway, so today I mad daal after weeks with non-veg!
While cooking the daal I managed to forget the time and the daal become too thick. However, too thick dall is not that big of a problem. I prefer too thick daal than a too thin and watery. Becasue I can always add some water when the daal is heating up.
For this daal I used all ready mad masala becuase the energy for mixing and adding all the requried spices take time and energy which I did not have.
The daal is mixed with coscos, becasue I want to finish coscos very soon. I am hoping i can sson do chapati because I miss it so much.
Princes cakes are really good and can look high class, in my opinion. The cake can be perfect to a birthday part, or with a cup of coffe but also for a wedding reception.
However, being one of the pople preparing 15 cakes for a wedding is a challange. All cakes have to look the same, one cake can not have more cream than the other. Every cake has to look the same. During the cake making process, we were 4 people and still the baking time took a long time. In the end we were tired and irritated on each other, but we managed to creat 15 cakes for one wedding. If I get the oppertunity to do it again, I would not miss it. Think like this, be able to help someone for the big day is something special.
At the wedding reception, the cake looked amazing and also tasted really good! I thought I was not going to eat the cake due to baking prcoess. But I did!
This is the result from our baking, sure the cake was not standing up, but it is impossible to see this cake was homemade. The decoration was perfect to the cake.
Sunday at my parents house has started kind of good. First with some studies (so boring). While studying I started to feel cold and what is the best way to get warm? To bake and use the oven. So, the only option was to start baking muffins.
– 100 g butter, – 1,5 dl sugar
– 1 teaspoon of baking powder
– 3 tabelspoon of cacao powder
– 80 g chocolate
– 2 eggs
– 2,5 DL wheatflour
– 1 DL milk
mix butter, sugar till it become fluffy. Add baking powder, cacao powder and one egg after each other and mix more. Add all the rest of the ingredients. The oven temprature should be 175 degrees and the muffins have to be in the oven for 30 min at least.
Simple and tasty. While baking I started to listen to the Arabic songs I have been dancing to. I do not know why, but while mixing the ingredients my hips started to move to the music. It is impossible to not to dance to this songs. The songs are really good and for sure, gives me a big smile on my lips.
