After long time my friend and I had dinner at Shun Xin.
My friend took me to a almost wole in the wall resturant on Tulegatan 36 with really nice wok. The place had only more or less 5 tabels. At the same time kind of a big menu to compare to the size of the resturant. The menu had chicken, duke and beef.
My friend had beef and in my case was chicken with green curry. The dish was hot and not to hot, I could eat the dish without any problems. I do not really think I could eat wok everyday, but once in the blue moon is enough. Overall the dinner was nice.
Hm… The dinner was better than I though, or at least the gravy dishes.
The roti was too less thin and felt like the bread was homemade massproduction. Anyway, they had paneer, veg malai kofta, chicken and lamb on top of that chole. In my taste they had better dinner than I expected, at least I could feel the flavours. But, the cue to get the food was too long after sometime.
The brunch was at Villa källhagen, a walking distans from Östermalm near to many museums for a all ages. I had never been to Villa Källhagen before, but passed it many times while walking around Djurgården. Also, for them who does not want to take the car or walk, there are many busses passing by.
The brunch had perfect amount of food compare with Christams buffes which have way too many dishes. This brunch had cold dishes salmon, meat and salads. The salad with pumpkin tasted really great!
While the warm dishws looked really sad, I did not even try the dishes. The desserts were in limited amount, and I know my family loved 2 things from the desserts.
What I really liked was, due to the limited amount of food, there was no risk of over eating, which I normally facing with buffers with many different sort of food. This time, I ate enough and really loved the cold dishes. They had smoked shrimps!!
The pink sweet was a great hit at my table.
So, sad little plate. I got this one at NK and expected more for the money. Do you think I was full after the food? No, not at all. Dor me some shrimps and salad are not enough, there has to be more. Anyways, the company was much better.
Soon of to the gym and do some workout. I have to get the tension away. May be cardio for 50 minutes… Let see.
Oh this food from last evening was a bit too spicy for me. Too hot and it is burning. I can promise the food had a lot of garlic. But the cooking took such a long time. More or less 2 hours but it turn out really nice. THe chickens meat were soft. I can not wait to get some proper food. On the other side, Indian food smells a lot while cooking. I mean, a lot the clothes get the smell too….
Anyway, sometimes it is fun too cook non common food.
Yesterday was a long day with limited amount of sleep. We manage to arrange a comfortable evening at my parents house. The whole family was at home and made homemade pizza.
The pizza dough was already bought, so we skiped by making our own dough. But we did the topping is after our taste. The pizza had wildmeat on one side with mozzarella, tomatoes and on the other side clams, mushrooms and mozzarella. THe waiting time was only 15 munites and the pizza was flooded with water from the mozzarella and the tomatoes. However, the pizza turn out amazing!
The pizza was so good!
My dear brother took me out for dinner at K25. We went to one of Stockholm best sushi places, and I can say the sushi tasted really good. The pices were fresh and the rice was not too sticky which sometime the rice can be. On top of the shushi pices were not too big either, there were no problem to eat one pice at a time.
The funniest part was that my brother told me about how to eat sushi. For example, the rice should not be in soya and instead the fish. Than my question is HOW?! I did not try to dip the fish, to dip the rice is so much easier.
The Sushi place is Hattori also located at Drottninggatan in Stockholm.
A very popular dinner place is KB at Smålandsgatan, next to Birger Jarlsgatan. I would say the dishes are more of Swedish type. Also, the veg dishes are very limited. Anyways, the place is nice to visit because the walls are painted and the rooms are a bit dark.
The food is good and heavy and a lot, so you won’t be hungry after a meal at KB.
I was really surprise how the dish turn out. Simple dish, but no too bad. The main spice I used was something from Kirgizistan and was red. Anyway, I have no clue how the spice should have been used but now it is over and I have some portions left of the fish. What I really like with this dish is all the green vegatables.
Todays lunch was simple as always. If I should spend a lot of time on cooking, its only happning during the weekends and in the evenings. Never for lunch, even if I got a lot of time. No, for lunch the dish has to cook fast, and nothig else.
Fast and faster so I can still my hunger.
Therefore, today my lunch was made with salmon, onion, corn and tomatoes. Simple and easy. On top of that some spices such as chili. The worst part my spice collection is becoming thiner and I have to buy more spices in the local indian stores.
